Rinser Chain Oil Orsco
(Doc File) The
PET bottle rinser in a beverage plant receives the bottles from
the depalletizer conveyor, rinses them with water and feeds the
filler input conveyor. Downtime is significant and if the filler
does not receive bottles, the entire packaging line is idle. We
discovered that the replacement cost of this chain was very
expensive, periodic chain adjustments were needed and bottles were
mishandled when the chain stretched. The Ambec installation
revealed that chain stretch was reduced by over 50%. In addition
to chain life increase, we determined a significant increase in
sprocket life with the Orsco spray system. |

Bottle Rinser Bearing Grease QLS (Doc File) The
Barry Wehmiller rinser application addressed the grease
lubrication requirement for the bearings. Short bearing life
resulted from the extreme amount of water contacting the bearings.
Manual lubrication could not be performed at frequent intervals to
properly lubricate the bearings. Bearing life was improved and
lubrication labor reduced. |

Knapp
Slitter Chain Oil Orsco (Doc File) The
Standard Knapp Slitter Sealer cuts the cardboard carton flaps,
unfolds the flaps and seals the carton after full bottles are
inserted. Manual chain lubrication was not performed on a timely
basis and expensive annual rebuilds resulted. The Orsco chain oil
spray system exceeded expectations and rebuild schedules,
requiring one week lost production time, were no longer required.
The original application has been operating over five years with
no mechanical failures. |

Lubrication System at Paulaner Brewery

Germany. In 1993, Paulaner installed 1,100 lubrication points; one of
the first complete centralized lubrication systems in the beverage
